Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

DBT was originally created by Marsha Linehan, PhD. in response to an ever growing need to treat chronically depressed and suicidal people. Since then it has been used successfully as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and skills training method for many disorders including Anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Mood Disorders and PTSD. DBT teaches skills to regulate emotion, have the ability to tolerate distress, be mindfully aware and adopt acceptance, therefore creating an ability to manage negative symptoms, relationship issues, and painful emotions more readily. DBT has been widely proven to be effective at treating a variety of mood based issues.
